Even though Botswana offers superlative game viewing opportunities, for the most part it essentially remains less visited relative to its adjacent countries like Namibia and Zimbabwe.
To that end, the Botswana government has created policy to promote tourism while still protecting wildlife areas. The Okavango Delta, better known as the ‘jewel of the Kalahari’, boasts swarms of both permanent and migratory marine birds and wildlife that flock to the 800 mile wide region for the seasonal flooding. Enormous herds of elephant and buffalo populate the Chobe National Park all year round while seasonal traveling crowds and ever present predators congregate to the Savuti Channel. Bird watchers rarely have a minute to rest their binoculars in this abundantly represented expanse of the African wild.
A dugout canoe, better referred to as a mokoro by the locals, is one of the transport modes unique to the area and allows tourists to float effortlessly through the eco-system and up close to much of what is to be seen. Professional guides also track wildlife by open vehicle and riverboat so you can enjoy the animals – such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and the endangered wild dog – at close proximity from every angle.
Come and enjoy the splendour, the indescribable limitlessness and the prolific wildlife of this magnificent safari destination.

Day 1-3: Linyanti Bush Camp, Chobe Enclave, Botswana
Arrive in Maun, Botswana, by mid-day. Charter flight to Linyanti Bush Camp for a three-night stay.
The area’s relative remoteness makes it a favoured wild safari destination and one of the best sought after areas in Northern Botswana. The area is best known for its enormous herds of elephants and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers.
Other resident game includes lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and plains game. The rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes.
Linyanti Bush Camp is a small, intimate 12 bedded tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marshes in a private reserve, which borders the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave. The camp is limited to small exclusive groups who seek a personalized experience in a private concession away from the main tourist’s routes. Activities from the camp consist of game drives, walking, spot lighting and hides. -
DAY 4-6: Khwai Tented Camp, Khwai Community Area, Botswana
Take a light aircraft flight to the Khwai airstrip and game drive through the concession area to Khwai Tented Camp for the next three nights of your safari adventure.
Wildlife encountered include lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, as well as a multitude of other animals, including elephant, buffalo, zebra, hippo and giraffe to name a few.
Exploring after dark with spotlights offers you an opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals that are rarely encountered during the day – and there is also the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness on foot and enjoy an up close personal encounter with the varied flora and fauna in the area.
Khwai is a private community run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve along the river Khwai which is the sole source of water for miles around attracting wildlife from afar.
The camp has the romance of a mobile camp, where there are no permanent structures and everything can be removed to leave the wilderness exactly as we found it, having little or no impact on the environment.
Accommodation is tented – spacious and comfortable, with beds and private en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and bucket showers under the stars.Overnight in a luxury tented camp. -
DAY 7-9: Xugana Island Lodge, Okavango Delta, Botswana
Transfer by charter flight to the Xugana Island Lodge private airfield and take a ten minute boat ride to the main lodge.
The Xugana Lagoon is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, located in the midst of the Kalahari sands. This is Africa`s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola and never reaches the sea; instead its immense waters empty over the sands of the Kalahari. Here the great desert thirst is quenched in a wilderness of fresh water lagoons, channels and islands. In the heart of this inland delta lies the remote Xugana Island on the edge of the beautiful Xugana Lagoon, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience.
Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a private concession and offers spectacular views and the open boma and al fresco dining area overlooks the Xugana Lagoon.
The lodge accommodates just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch lagoon facing chalets, with en-suite facilities and private viewing decks.
Exploring the Delta by motorboat or canoe (mokoro), combined with walking on surrounding islands in the concession, gives guests the chance to experience a classic Okavango Delta safari. -
